Education

Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Outreach Education offers a variety of emergency preparedness classes that are open to the public. Classes are taught at both Cuyuna Regional Medical Center as well as workplaces throughout the region. 

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)- provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia arrest.

Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)- Two different sessions are offered:

Heart saver Automated External Defibrillator (AED)- teaches basic techniques of adult CPR, how to use an AED and giving first aid for choking. Er

BLS Healthcare Provider Course- intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients in a healthcare setting.
First Aid- provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately following an emergency until the arrival of emergency medical personnel.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)- designed to teach evidence based approach to resuscitation of the newborn.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)- provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the ill and injured child
