Minnesota Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery
The skills of a surgeon.
The strength of a campus.
At Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, surgery is an art. The procedures and technology available are on the forefront of surgical technology.
Along with our team of highly skilled surgeons and state of the art technology, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center has a campus-based surgery center that is supported by more than 65 surgical professionals and is sustained by the skills and dedication of an entire Medical Campus. Staff provides preoperative education and evaluation, anesthetic evaluation and superb care throughout the operative care process. Some of the procedures performed include: general, vascular, orthopaedic, urology, ear, nose and throat (ENT), ophthalmology, gynecology, plastic surgery and endoscopy.

In September 2003, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Board of Directors approved the formation of the Minnesota Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIMIS). Minimally invasive surgery takes advantage of new technologies that reduce the size of incisions required for many traditional surgeries. Smaller incisions usually result in less pain, faster healing and a reduced risk of infection.

Recent construction and renovation has provided the surgery center with high tech surgical and endoscopy suites especially equipped for minimally invasive procedures. Two of the suites are equipped with telesurgery equipment, providing the ability to transmit and receive “real time” voice and video images of surgery in progress.
Surgical staff perform both inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures. Patients who come to the Medical Campus in Crosby have the support of a comprehensive Medical Campus and the convenience of one location in Crosby, Minnesota.
